At Merrydale Junior School, nestled in the city of Leicester we are dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where every child feels a sense of belonging, is encouraged to aspire to greatness, and is supported to achieve excellence in all aspects of their learning journey.

Our Approach to Education: 
At Merrydale Junior School, we take pride in our average-sized school community, currently accommodating 362 children across 12 classes. With a dedicated team of 13 classroom-based teachers, a non-teaching Deputy, and a non-teaching SENDCo, we ensure that every child’s individual needs are met. Additionally, our pastoral team, comprising a Family Link and Attendance Officer, Pastoral Officer, and ELSA, provides essential support for the emotional well-being of our students. 

We have meticulously crafted a Big Picture Curriculum that outlines our educational goals, strategies, and expected outcomes clearly to all stakeholders. Our broad and balanced curriculum is designed to cater to the diverse needs of our students, ensuring that each child receives a rich and engaging learning experience. Through a carefully planned journey of learning, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to navigate the complexities of the world around them.
